Ingredients
Scale
For the Pork:
- 1 lb pork tenderloin (or boneless pork chops), thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp cornstarch (for that crispy sear)
- 1 tbsp soy sauce (or coconut aminos for a gluten-free option)
- 1 tbsp oil (avocado or vegetable oil)
For the Honey Garlic Sauce:
- ¼ cup honey (local, raw honey if possible)
- 3 tbsp soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
- 4 cloves garlic, minced (more if you love garlic)
- 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated (optional but adds a nice kick)
- ½ tsp crushed red pepper flakes (or more if you like heat)
- 1 tsp sesame oil (for that deep, nutty flavor)
Veggies (Feel Free to Mix It Up!):
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 cup broccoli florets
- 1 small carrot, julienned
- ½ small onion, sliced
- 1 cup sugar snap peas
For Serving:
- Cooked jasmine rice or brown rice
- Sesame seeds & sliced green onions (for garnish)
Instructions
Prep Your Ingredients
- Slice the pork into thin strips (against the grain for tenderness).
- Toss the pork with soy sauce and cornstarch—this helps give it that crispy, restaurant-style texture.
- Mix all the honey garlic sauce ingredients in a small bowl. Set it aside.
- Chop up your veggies so everything is ready to go. Stir-fries move fast!
2. Sear the Pork
- Heat 1 tbsp oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add the pork in a single layer. Let it sear for 2 minutes before flipping—this locks in flavor.
- Cook until golden brown and slightly crispy. Remove from the pan and set aside.
3. Stir-Fry the Veggies
- In the same pan, add another ½ tbsp oil if needed.
- Toss in the veggies and stir-fry for 3–4 minutes until they’re crisp-tender. You want them bright and slightly crunchy, not mushy!
4. Add the Sauce & Pork
- Return the pork to the pan.
- Pour the honey garlic sauce over everything. Stir well so it coats every bite.
- Let it simmer for 1–2 minutes until the sauce thickens and gets glossy.
5. Serve & Enjoy!
- Spoon over steamed rice and sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions.
- If you like extra heat, add a dash of sriracha or chili flakes.
Notes
- For extra flavor, marinate the pork for 15–30 minutes in soy sauce before cooking.
- To thicken the sauce, add ½ teaspoon of cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon of water.
- For a low-carb option, serve with cauliflower rice or zucchini noodles.
- Double the sauce if you like extra saucy stir-fry!
